NPR.org moves from Bugzilla to Jira
A few months ago, Kim Bryant, NPR’s Manager of Application Operations for Digital Media, posted on Inside NPR.org about their move from Bugzilla to Jira in order to address challenges with “managing work requests, bug tracking and other operational processes.” In the second part of her blog series, Kim goes into the details about some of the frustrations of using Bugzilla for 4 1/2 years. She also drills into NPR’s top 5 reasons for switching to Jira.
Jira 4 Performance – Part 2
Originally, we had intended to write a two-part blog series on the performance improvements in Jira 4. You may have already seen the first part, where George Barnett covered Jira 4 performance compared to Jira 3.13. In the second part, Mark Lassau was going to talk about the benefits of automated performance tests and the improvements to the Jira codebase made possible by the regular performance telemetry data. Jira 4 Early Adopters – Open source projects leading the way
As part of the Jira 4 launch effort, we reached out to a handful of open source projects to see if they wanted to be the first to upgrade to Jira 4. Almost without hesitation, several projects jumped at the opportunity to try out the latest and greatest that Jira has to offer. Here is a little background on a few of the Jira 4 open source early adopters: Hibernate, Sonatype, Spring and Zend Framework.

Integrate Jira with Jama Contour
Last week, the folks over at Jama Software released the new Jira Connector for Jama Contour which is now available for download on the Atlassian Plugin Exchange. This integration is perfect for development teams using Jama Contour for requirements management and Jira for managing development tasks. Coupled with GreenHopper, a plugin for Jira, this is a great solution for agile software development all the way from user stories to release notes.
Jira 4.0 Beta 2 is now available
After launching our first beta of Jira 4.0 at Atlassian Summit last month, have had already hundreds people download the beta and provide us tons of great feedback. This week, we released Jira 4.0 Beta 2 which is the second major milestone release leading up to Jira 4.0. This release contains over 250 fixes and improvements including activity streams, dashboard gadgets, advanced searching with JQL, and a sexy new header and project browser.
Jira 3.13.5 released!
I am happy to announce that Jira 3.13.5 released this week. This latest point release of Atlassian’s bug and issue tracker includes over 30 bug fixes and improvements.
